The AntiChrist is predicted in the bible to be the final world ruler.  He will take full control of the entire planet shortly after the Rapture and rule and reign for just over 7 years.  This includes the 7 year Tribulation and a brief period before that.  About halfway through the Tribulation, at the 3.5 year mark, he will defile the 3rd Jewish Temple and set himself up inside the temple as though he's God and will rule the world as a god for that last half of the Tribulation.  He will also institute a one world religion, a one world currency, a one world government and a mark of loyalty which will be required in order to buy or sell anything.  Those choosing to not be a part of this will be exiled or killed.
