The Psalm 83 war is the first of six end times wars involving the nation of Israel. It begins with the intention of completely annihilating Israel, and is perpetrated by her immediate neighbors, who directly surround her. The list of nations who participated in this war are as follows (modern day names included):
Tents of Edom = [decedents of Esau] Palestinian Refugees and Southern Jordanians
Ishmaelites = Saudi Arabians
Moab = Palestinian Refugees and Central Jordanians
Hagrites = Egyptians
Gebal = Northern Lebanese
Ammon = Palestinian Refugees and Northern Jordanians
Amalek = Arabs South of Israel
Philista = Palestinian Refugees and Hamas of Gaza Strip
Inhabitants of Tyre = Hezbollah and Southern Lebanese
Assyria = Syrians and perhaps Northern Iraqis included
Children of Lot = Moab and Ammon
Their goal in attacking Israel is to completely wipe her from existence, and remove her as a nation from the world map. They ultimately fail, and Israel captures the land of their enemies allowing them, for the first time in history, to control all of the land God promised them. Some of the events that have been prophesied to happen in conjunction with this, or which will kick it off, is (not necessarily in order of occurrence) the Isaiah 17 prophecy of the destruction of Damascus, an attack by someone (Syria, Iran, Jordan, etc) with missiles that spawns a counter attack by Israel, destruction of Iran's nuke plants, attacks on Tel Aviv or other Israeli cities with conventional or nuclear weapons, dirty bomb attacks by terrorists, etc.
During this war Israel is also prophesied to start hauling out some of their secret weapons, including perhaps neutron bombs, Tesla weapons (vacuum energy bombs, etc) and other similar super advanced weapons against its enemies. Israel will be wounded during this war and will suffer severe harm, but it will be victorious. Jerusalem will be attacked and almost overthrown, but will survive. Tel Aviv however is supposed to be wiped off the map, or at the very least rendered uninhabitable. Also, all biblical evidence that I've gathered on this so far seems to point towards the end of this war being a decisive victory with all of Israel's inner ring enemies (those listed above) being completely wiped out and ceasing entirely from being nations.
