The gist of this prophecy is that, during the Tribulation, the Beast (aka Antichrist) and the False Prophet will call down fire upon all of their enemies as a sign to everyone who follows them, and those who have yet to make that choice, as a sign of his great power. While it's entirely possible that such an ability could be entirely supernatural, there is some evidence that it may come in a more benign form through modern technology and weapons, such as Directed Energy Weapons (DEW), lasers, or other similar space weaponry.
